Turn in your forms for Soccer by August 11th.
Monday, Aug 4 – Captains Practice
Open to all girls planning to tryout for Osseo Soccer in 2008.
Practice will run all week, August 4-8. 10 AM to Noon each day.
Monday, Aug 11 – Tryouts
All 6 sessions from Monday through Wednesday are mandatory.
Schedule: 8/11 – 9:00-11:00 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
8/12 – 9:00-11:00 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
8/13 – 9:00-11:00 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM
All tryouts and captains practice are at the Osseo Senior High fields.
Fields are located between the Stadium and the High School.
Contact Chad Hendricks if you have any conflicts with the Tryout schedule.
Thursday, August 14 – Team Practice Starts.
Wednesday, August 20 – Parents Meeting at 7:00PM
The meeting will be in the OSH Forum Room.
Thursday, August 21 – Games Start.
F.A.Q.
Q. Who can tryout for Soccer?
A. Any girl that is in the Osseo High School district and will be in 7th through 12th grade in the Fall of 2008.
Q. Where can I pick up registration forms?
A. Forms are available now at the High School and each Junior High. Forms will also be available after the summer break starting August 1 in the High School Athletic Office.
Q.When can I sign up?
A. Now. Starting this spring, the High School Athletic Office will accept your registration forms for Fall Sports. Go ahead and get signed up today. After the summer break, the High School will accept registration forms from August 1 until tryouts start – Monday, August 11. Don’t wait until the last minute.
Q. Do I have to be registered to attend Captain’s Practice?
A. No, Captains Practice is optional training run by the Varsity Captains. All grades are welcome to attend and there are no forms required.
Q. I’m will be in 7th or 8th grade in 2008, should I tryout?
A. Yes, last year we had 16 7th and 8th graders tryouts for the program. 13 of them made a team, played in 16+ games, and are now more prepared for 2008.

A note about tryouts:
Please bring indoor and outdoor shoes, a ball, shin guards, water, and a light and dark shirt to every session.
To be eligible for tryouts, you MUST be registered in the High School Athletic
office and have a physical on file with them. Please take care
of all of the paper work during or before Captains’ practice week.
During the tryout process, players will be evaluated and placed on a team
based on the following criteria: soccer skills(dribbling, passing,
shooting, etc), teamwork, knowledge of the game, speed, endurance,
attitude, work ethic, dedication, etc.
Age is NOT a factor. I encourage all grades from 7-12 to participate.
